Utility ROV Services were contracted by Global Marine to conduct boulder relocation operations on the Danish Kriegers Flak Offshore Wind Farm as part of the pre-lay boulder clearance and trenching campaign along the inter-array cable routes. The scope of work consisted of boulder relocation and accompanying survey work along 18 IAC strings. In addition to performing general survey tasks, Utility ROV Services completed a scope of additional investigatory work along certain IAC strings at the client's request. The larger Tine Grab (T-A05) was crucial in the success of the project, allowing boulders that were too large for the standard Tine Grab to be relocated successfully. During relocation operations, Utility ROV Services were also tasked with investigation and survey operations by the client to determine if boulders were to be cleared along proposed cable routes. Utility ROV Services were invited back to complete additional operations in a second phase of the project to remove a piece of debris, thought to be a section of geotechnical drill string that had become stuck in the seabed following geotechnical surveys performed previously, before carrying out spoil relocation and finally completing remedial boulder relocation.
