Utility ROV Services were contracted by Global Offshore Ltd to conduct rock bag and mattress installation operations on an interconnector cable between the islands of Rousay and Westray.
The UTROV® system was mobilised onto the Topaz Installer with the Rock Bag Deployment tool (RBDT) and the Mattress Installation Frame (MIF) for this 14-day scope of work. The client, Global Offshore Ltd, was responsible for the cable installation on behalf of SSEN.
In addition to the installation of Rock Bags and Concrete Mattresses, the UTROV® conducted touch down monitoring for the cable installation phase. The operations were conducted in currents of around 2.8 – 3 knots.
