Patrick Crawford – Managing Director
Patrick Crawford is the Founder and Managing Director of Utility ROV Services. Patrick has been involved with offshore operations from a young age effectively completing an apprenticeship in his family salvage business. Patrick further developed his career working for 5 years in the oil and gas industry. During this time project managing the design & manufacture of deep water well intervention systems for clients such as Helix, BP & Expro. Patrick understands the industry requirements for safe, efficient and reliable equipment. Patrick founded Utility ROV December 2013 and is an enthusiastic and innovative leader who has worked on many challenging projects he brings a fresh approach to the market with his positive, “can-do” attitude.
Andrew Crawford – Technical Manager
Andrew is the Technical Manager for Utility ROV Services and has been pioneering the development of the UTROV, tooling and deck handling equipment since 2015. Andrew started his career in the salvage sector, building and operating innovative subsea and on-deck equipment for deep water cargo recovery projects. Andrew then moved to the Oil and Gas Sector, initially working for an offshore dredging contractor. This included offshore projects and the development of new dredging equipment. Andrew’s career then progressed to pipe and cable lay; initially offshore operations, then the refurbishment and installation of lay equipment, and finally the build, installation and commissioning of flexible and rigid pipelay systems. Through this Andrew was involved in several vessel conversions and new-builds ranging from shallow water pipelay barges to state of the art offshore construction vessels. Andrew’s key interest is promoting the UTROV for decommissioning tasks, developing tooling and safe, efficient, deck handling solutions to complement the UTROV System.
Craig Roberts – Assistant Project Manager
Craig joined the team part-time whilst studying for his BSc, joining full time in January 2014 after graduation. Having had the opportunity to work with the company from the beginning, Craig has developed a strong understanding of both the technical and administrative aspects of the business. Craig works in partnership with Stuart Burnie to ensure that projects undertaken by the company are executed to a high standard. This operational involvement is taken by Craig and the lessons learned fed into the development of the company and future projects.
Stuart Burnie – Project Manager
Stuart joined Utility ROV April 2015 as a Project Manager and brings many years of ROV experience to the table. Stuart’s role includes acting as client interface, taking responsibility for Health & Safety and Managing our team of offshore personnel. Stuart has extensive experience of Work Class ROV Systems, Tooling and Remote Intervention, Offshore Subsea Operations and has NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications. An electrician to trade, his ROV experience includes working as an ROV supervisor, ROV Project Manager, ROV Consultant and as an Offshore Client Representative.
Richard Smith – Business Development Manager
Richard joined the company in May 2016 as Business Development Manager. Richard has been involved with ROV and Offshore operations for over 19 years having worked worldwide on offshore projects with Subsea 7 and Canyon Offshore before embarking on an onshore management career. Richard has been extensively involved in vessel Chartering and Operations, Project Management, Asset Management and Business Development activities across Oil and Gas, Subsea Mining and Renewable Energy Markets. Richard has a BA (hons) in Management from the Robert Gordon University
Linsey Anderson – Finance & Admin Manager
Linsey has 12 years’ experience in the energy sector at Senior Manager & Director level and is responsible for HR, Recruitment and people development, an area in which she has solid knowledge. As the business continues to grow, choosing the right people is business critical, as is putting in place people development strategies and HR systems and policies. We have a fantastic team, of which we are immensely proud, and we are working with Investors in People to ensure that our ethos, values and culture remain strong as we grow.
Alan Newlands – Project Engineer
Alan joined Utility ROV Services in March 2016 as a project engineer, having spent the previous 6 years as an ROV Product Manager. Alan has been involved in the ROV industry for 25 years, firstly as an ROV operator and then supervisor for 10 years, before moving onshore to work in various ROV related technical and supervisory roles. Alan brings extensive experience in ROV system specification, design, and manufacturing backed up by his previous operational experience. Alan’s current role involves the technical development of Utility ROV Services UTROV capability.
