Ocean Force Management was responsible for the success on the project to recover from the Francois Vieljeux (FV). The vessel sank with a cargo of Zinc and Copper and had been subject to previous salvage operations by several salvors including Comex, Deep Tek Ltd, and Subsea Resources PLC. Ocean Force Management’s approach to this wreck enabled it to access the wreck to recover thousands of tonnes of cargo with little or no disturbance to the wreck in order to minimise any risk of environmental damage.
The FV is approximately 35 miles off the coast of Northern Spain in the economic zone of Spain and close to the Marine National Park of Cies Islands.
To date 3503 tonnes of Copper and 331 tonnes of Zinc have been recovered from the Francois Vieljeux.
